On June 15th 1219, Denmark was fighting a war with Estonians, they weren’t doing so well until (allegedly) a flag fell from the sky which turned the course of the war in favour of the danish fighters. 

This flag that (allegedly) fell from the sky was named the “Dannebrog” and is the oldest national flag in existence. 

Also another fun fact, there is a town in America named “Dannebrog” where a woman murdered 8 of her family members by poisoning them!
